advocacy ad

These ads are very convincing. They clearly say what they are all about and gets you to feel how they feel. They really caught my attention and i would like to get invovled with more issues that go on in our world. They all have a similar purpose and similar ways to get your attention, yet each ad has its own flair.
To write love on her arms ad gets with all the videos. They dont give you a full definition of what they are but tell you thier motivation and show videos that help prove thier cause. And the t-shirts they sell is is am easy way that we all can get invovled with this cause.
The RAINN ad get me interested from thier acronym first. Acronyms are a sure fire way to get people's attention. Then came thier stat that every 2 minutes someone is sexually assaultes. Statistics really show people how pressing an issue is and how real it is because anyone you know could be hinding that they got sexually abused. They did such a good job because i did not even realize that they had celebrity endorsers until the third time i looked at the page.
The KIVA loans ad was very different then any other ad ive seen. It said 100% of what they are all about. They told you how your donation works and simplified with the arrow diagram. Another thing that woulg get people to donate is that it is really an investment and not a donation. You get your money back after a certain time period. That is very intringuing to people who like to help out but cant do it financially because you eventually recieve your donation back. And everyone likes to recieve money.

human traffic

I dont have a big emotional impact after watching this video. Other topics have hit me harder. Yeah it does suck that these kids get taken away and then sold as sex instruments. I am in no way advocating human sex trafficikng but i dont feel the emotional distatse as i did the other videos. It is definately a terrible thing that these kids are probably taken against their wills and are sold and i cant comprehend what type of sicko does it take to have sex with a kid. But the thing is we live in a world that is so corrupt that stuff like that goes on everyday. A kid is being mistreated and violated every single day. If given a general concensus it would probably be 100% wrong, immoral, bad( put whatever synonym with bad) to have sex with a kid, but that wont stop the people that do corrupt actions of the sort. I do not sympathize with the people that do those things. But shit like that happens all the time. I just remembered that a guy that graduated high school with my brother got arrested for like child sex behavior. It was like one of those to cacth a predator type things. It is wierd because over the summer i saw him every day working at the starbucks in the library. He did not seem like the kid who would do something like that but he did. Shit like this happens all the time and there is nothing we can do to change it. As long as there are corrupt people in the world that will immoral actions there is no hope for a beter world.

wiki contest

My 1st place is Arnold C. because i really enjoyed the poker talk. I like poker also and agree with his beliefs about poker. He obviously enjoys movies like me. I liked the dark backround.
My 2nd place is Evio J. because he really has a plan to make his dreams come true. He likes sports like me but knows that there is something else in life except sports. He is also funny. the videos were humerous.
My 3rd place is Bryan M. because his page popped in my eyes. the bright colors gave the page a sense of fun. I think that it is cool that he dances with a weapon. That is really exciting.

song analysis

The person i chose is michael from section U1S. His strong points derive from the fact that he really likes the song and is passionate about the song. He states that there are more points to the song then just standing up against " the Man" but also about freedom of speech. He makes a claims of definition when he makes an interpretation of several lines in the song. He is also historically correct when he mentions the beginning of the explicit language stickers that the government put to try to disgrace music in the 1980's, which actually helped the music bacome popular. His weakness is that the analysis was very short. I feel he could have put more into the analysis such as giving a really brief history. Like when the song came out, what album was it one, and how far did it go on the Billboard Charts.
If i were to give him a grade i would say B- because he made good points, but it was really short.
