messed up !

I went to a private school all my life so i dont know much about the FCAT or other standarized test, but i did have to do one. I had to do the Standard Achievement Test from about 5k-11th grade. It is similar to other standarized test but without the consequences or rewards. I like the fact of standarized test, but it should be standard. Meaning their should be one test per grade that the individual state comes up with. Maybe the NCLB law should be a state law and not a national law.
It is stupid to try to compare the grades of kids from the grades of kids before them. Each years results should have the improvement of the child's learning with an average of each subjects score to see what their stronger and weaker subjets are. Kids dont learn the same things every year so why should they be compared. Also if a school gets a bad score on a standarized test they should not be punished. Kids need to learn, but how can they with less resources every year if they happen to fail. What can we expect these kids to become in their adulthood. If we give up on them now, they will give up on us later.
What is up with those incompletes? It is not the nations responcibility to come up with a grading scale. It is the parents responcibility to encourage the kid in school. With an incomplete parents cant tell how much help their child needs. Do they have a C and need a little help or do they have an F and need a lot of help.
